Jill and Mick were married on Saturday 17th of April in a lovely garden ceremony at the Ravenswood Homestead, with a reception that evening at The Capital Theatre in Bendigo. They were blessed with beautiful sunny weather for their celebration, and had a brilliant, fun filled day. I had never been to the Ravenswood Homestead before. It certainly is an amazing venue, and I could honestly spend hours roaming around the property and gorgeous buildings taking photographs… and STILL want more time. Of course wedding days aren’t quite like that though, and we had always planned to get back to Bendigo with enough time for some photographs around the beautiful old buildings. Jill & Mick were very keen to have some photographs taken when the buildings are lit up in the early evening. I brought extra flashes and stands with me, and had a great time setting up some dramatic images.
I will begin this post with two of my favourite images from the end of the day, taken in front of the old Post Office and War Memorial in Pall Mall, Bendigo. I have never shot with more than one off camera flash on a wedding day before, but I love the results and think it was definitely worth the extra effort.
Jill and her bridesmaids got ready at Jill & Mick’s home. As usual I began by taking photographs of all of the lovely details.
Jill had her Mother’s bridal horseshoe sewn to the inside of the skirt of her wedding gown. A beautiful and personal touch!
The gorgeous bride looking absolutely radiant. I love the way this aqua wall sets off Jill’s beautiful skin tones and dark hair. Just lovely, and a little bit vintage looking with some subtle texture added to the photograph.
Jill with her beautiful bridesmaids.
I had to include a photograph of Jill with her ‘babies’. These are two very pampered and utterly adored little dogs.
