Sarah and Sam were married in May at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo, with a reception that evening in the Platinum Room at The Foundry Hotel Complex. It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding, and I was in heaven photographing this amazing couple on their special day. I’ll begin my post with photographs of Sarah and her bridesmaids getting ready at the Hotel Shamrock. They had a beautiful big room with lots of lovely natural light, neutral decor and antique furniture. Just perfect for photographs!
Sarah’s 2 sisters and 2 best friends, helping her get into her magnificent ivory, silk wedding gown.
Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown. Her quiet grace and elegance quite simply took my breath away, and looking through the lens at her seemed a little like stepping back in time. Oh my… what a divine bride!
A vintage treatment adds to the old world feel of this photograph of the girls. They all look so beautiful!
Some vintage inspired glamour utilising the tungsten lights in the room and video light.

Now some images of Sam and his groomsmen getting ready. I borrowed some gorgeous antique glassware from Sam’s Mum’s kitchen dresser for the detail shots of the cuff links and wedding rings.
Sam looking relaxed, calm and very handsome. I just love taking a few casual portraits of the groom before he gets his tie and suit on.
A fabulous shot of the guys, in one of the rare moments that they weren’t all talking and laughing. Such a brilliant group, and very funny! I love my job!

The amazing frontage of Sam’s parents home.
A couple of portraits of Sam surrounded by the beautiful light coming in the front foyer of his family home.
Sarah beamed at her sweetheart all the way down the Cathedral’s very long aisle.
I just have no words… and even if I did I wouldn’t be able to speak them. I was totally choked up at this moment, and again every time I look at this photograph.
I seriously LOVE this building and red door. Bendigo is full of such treasures, for which I am so grateful.
I think this is my favourite shot of the day. I love Sarah just a little bit more every time I look at it. She is such a character, and this image just makes me smile!
The gorgeous bridal party in front of their VERY long Chrysler.
Our last location of the day, with only a few minutes of dusk light left. This image of the guys is another favourite. They just look so cool.
A stunning location, dreamy light and deeply devoted newlyweds. *sigh*
The last shot on location, featuring the colours of the sunset.
Sarah and Sam’s reception at the Platinum Room, and a few of the details. They had a lolly bar which was a huge hit with all the guests! Nothing could compare to the photobooth though. Constant screams of laughter coming from the other side of the curtain had me wondering what on earth was going on in there. What a brilliant idea! So much fun.

Sarah and Sam. How can I find the words to sufficiently describe just how much I adore you, and how much I loved photographing your wedding? It was such an amazing day, and watching the two of you together made my heart swell and my spirits soar. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone embrace the role of ‘bride’ quite the way you did Sarah. It’s like you picked it up, shook it then squeezed out every joyous moment that you could. You were vivacious, animated and so much fun to be around. I thoroughly enjoyed the company of your bridal party as well. They are the kind of people I could happily just hang out with, so to spend time with such a group under the guise of ‘work’ makes me a very lucky person. Thank you for the opportunity and privilege of photographing your brilliant day. I hope you love this selection of your photographs, and I truly look forward to seeing you both again to show you the rest.
